faitytaleFairy Tales

Update March 5, 2011- You all did a FABULOUS job writing your original fairy tales and using the Myths and Legends Story Creator 2 Website to bring them to life! To find your fairy tale you will click here and scroll down the page. If Chapin Street Elementary School is not listed in the Choose a School text box please use the drop down menu to select your school and click the "Find Stories" tab. You will then scroll down the page and click on the fairy tale that you would like to read.

We have been learning and reviewing the elements found in a fairy tale. It is now time for you to take the information you learned about fairy tales and create your very own fairy tale!
Below are the directions for completing this assignment:

1. Each student will be given directions on writing their fairy tale. Please read these directions carefully.

2.Each student will be using a fairy tale template to organize and plan your fairy tale. This template MUST be completed AND approved by Mrs. Potter BEFORE you can begin to write your fairy tale draft.

3. When your template is approved you will begin to write your fairy tale- remember to be creative and think like an author! You can either use the computer (Microsoft Word) or write the story long hand.

4. Submit your fairy tale draft for suggestions, corrections, etc. from Mrs. Potter. Don't forget to give your fairy tale a title!

5. When your fairy tale has been approved by Mrs. Potter you will then be able to use one of the two websites below to bring your fairy to life! You will first type in the text to your story and then add the images and animations. Remember to sign in using your student log-in.
Story checklist:
Do all of your sentences start with a capital letter?
Did you check and double check for proper spelling, grammar and punctuation?
Do all of the character names in your story start with a capital letter and have a fairy tale element?
Did you include additional elements of a fairy tale? For example, good and evil characters, a problem to solve, etc.
Does your fairy tale have a title?
Does your fairy tale have a happy ending?
